This is a fic prompting meme based around the BBC series Sherlock, written by Stephen Moffat & Mark Gattis.

There are a couple of communities that have sprung up already, namely here and here and here, and also a very busy sherlockkink meme based around the Robert Downey Jr/Jude Law film, but since there's a GAP IN THE MARKET for a BBC Sherlock prompt meme and people are gnawing off their own hands in need of fic, here we go!

ETA: There's also a very dedicated meme here which covers all varieties of Sherlock Holmes adaptations/ spin-offs.

1) This is a Sherlock meme, so no RPF please! We don't want any legal trouble.

2) Feel free to post anon by all means, it's a matter of personal preference.

3) Remember to include a warning in the title for anything a little more "niche" or that people might have a problem with - non-con, dub-con, death!fic, incest, death!fic etc. Other than that, anything goes - crack, slash, het, gen, fluff, angst, whatever floats your boat.

4) Feel free to prompt as much as you like, but do try to fill as well as prompt; we don't want pages full of frustrating unfilled prompts!

5) Have a look beforehand to see whether your prompt has already been prompted - we want to avoid duplicate prompts as much as possible!

6) Please, be civil, be friendly, but don't be shy!

*Any problems, please message jjgd *

... What the hell.

Why nobody likes to play strip Poker with Sherlock. Sherlock/John.

Was he surprised, was he really at all surprised, that, in among his repertoire of seemingly random skills, Sherlock was also adept at counting cards? It was possible (and this was a thought that John chose to entertain only because it brought him great comfort) that he was equally adept at simply being a cheat, as it was unlikely independent consulting detectives saw any advantage whatsoever in playing fair.

The jumper came off first, even before John's shoes and socks. He didn't much mind, the furnace was blasting and he had only worn the thing as insurance really. He had a succession of decent hands after that and thought that things might turn out well enough after all, but that, of course, was a mistake in itself.

Lady Luck had managed to wrest Sherlock of his suit jacket, but John was left with nothing but his pants and undershirt and the distracted air with which Sherlock drummed his fingers on the kitchen table led him to believe he was boring the other man, or at least causing him to reach the end of his patience.

They prepared to play another hand, and Sherlock sent John a look, chin resting on his steepled fingers, eyelids half closed, that made it suddenly imperative that he win his trousers back or risk making a right idiot of himself.

John looked down at his cards so that he could avoid looking at his flatmate. Two pair. Ridiculous.

"You're going to fold, John."

There was a pause.

"Right. Game over." And that put a stop to any further talking.

Re: FILL 1/1

OP here! You're the best! This is awesome! I love how Sherlock is just so matter-of-fact about the whole thing! Perfect!

Re: FILL 1/1

LOL ha, yes, love it!
