This is a place for all sorts of off-topic discussion.

You can post anon or un-anon, per your personal preference, as usual.

All I ask is that you stay civil and (hopefully) friendly.

If you also want to use this thread to try to find a beta for a fic, or ask a brit-pick-ish question, I think that would be an acceptable use. Have fun!

Like the above anon, I have never injected cocaine. Since smoking and snorting have different effects (smoking gives a more immediate rush of shorter duration), I'd think injecting is also different.

Anyway, I'll try to describe what snorting cocaine was like for me. Note that the effects altered over time.

When cocaine was new and fun, being high was the best feeling in the world. I was confident, talkative and very active. People were more interesting and the world seemed brighter and sharper. I also had no sex drive (not that I've much of one now) and no appetite for food.

After a while, taking cocaine made me more miserable than anything else ever has. By the time I quit, I'd have a five minute "high" followed by a twelve hour comedown during which I was shaky, exhausted, and unable to sleep.

Hope this helps.

Yep, I agree with everything there.

I might add that I snorted with a first timer who said that the high was like ecstasy (a brighter, sharper world, your body feels nimble and everyone is more fun) but you can actually function on coke. I'm certain I could go to work high and no one would notice; better yet, I wouldn't be paranoid about being noticed because I'd be confident as hell.

Tell you what, though. It's a rich person's drug through and through. I imagine it would be more expensive in the UK than where I live (southeastern US) just because of its distance from South America.
