This is a place for all sorts of off-topic discussion.

You can post anon or un-anon, per your personal preference, as usual.

All I ask is that you stay civil and (hopefully) friendly.

If you also want to use this thread to try to find a beta for a fic, or ask a brit-pick-ish question, I think that would be an acceptable use. Have fun!

Could I get a rec of all the Sherlock - His Dark Materials crossovers?

There's one in particular I'm looking for and I can't find it...

Awesome! (Anonymous) Expand
Mycroft just gave me 'Wehrmacht.' I think he's seriously lost it.

I want to ask whether anyone can confirm whether the hound of baskervilles will be in season 2 cause I heard Mark saying he's starting to write it.

Had not heard this rumour

(Anonymous)
I can neither confirm nor deny it, but I WANT IT.

It's filtered and can't be seen by anyone who doesn;t have a deviant art account.

Do you think they woud give more screen time to Mycroft and Lestrade? I desperately hope so, but who knows. What do you think?
And after they killed off Moriarty (I mean, come on. The three keywords gives away pretty much everything about what is going to happen in the next season), could the show last one or two more seasons?(if the BBC wants it, I mean)
How many seasons you expect to see of the show? It's kinda depressing to think that the next season could be the end of everything. I hoped they didn't rush. If Moriarty dies, further episide should be taken place around the later years of Sherlck's career then.

I HOPE they'll give the more screentime, esp, Lestrade, since he shows up in the books a fair amount.

Fillers, which do yo prefer?
Specific prompts or Simple prompts? Just curious.

I like specific prompts with a storyline, or at least where one emerges when people ask OP questions or suggest further details. Can't stand the 'Mycroft/Umbrella/Rain and...go!' ones

Just a head's up in case people haven't seen this yet but the Baker Street Supper Club are doing a Sherlock fandom awards and our very own angrybeige is up for an award! I see she hasn't got many votes so far so I thought I'd rally the kinkmeme on her behalf to show our support for her amazing art and comic genius! She is married to the kinkmeme after all! Go here to cast your votes:

Sooooo kinda-weird-sudden suggestion here, which you may agree with or disagree with or spit at or whatever the hell you want.

Would it be a good idea to have a short period of time, in addition to prompt freezes, when only OLD prompts can be reprompted? Just 'cause there seem to be a lot of really really good old prompts that never get filled, and it's hard to pay attention to them because of the new prompts that come in.

...I dunno. Opinions?

Maybe we could do spotlight days? For example, have an announcement go up on a fixed weekday that declares that particular day's theme to be "Part I" and reminds people to go take a look at the first prompt post. The announcement could link a thread on the Discussion Post where people highlight their favourite unfilled prompts, rec some of their favourite stories on that part and leave comments on stories that they couldn't leave on the original post because it's maxed out.

Would anyone pay mind to that? It's probably a bit very convoluted.

shuffles awkwardly...

(Anonymous)
So...anyone know where I could find some Amazing Grace smut? Particularly with BC's William Pitt? I know this is kinda off topic, but I don't even know where to begin to look...

I'm claiming and reposting a bunch of my itty-bitty pathetic micro-fill-type things on my LJ and rather than put a de-anon note after them and use up precious meme-comment space, I'm just going to drop a link to the posts at my LJ here. I really don't know why either. :-)

A bunch that are gen-friendly, and one that technically isn't, but is pretty PG.

Flat View - Enlighten Me

(Anonymous)
Okay seriously. I don't get flat view. I've tried a few times to view the posts that way, and none of it makes any sense! Most of it are just random loose conversation threads, and I can't see how anyone makes heads or tails of it. Is it just easier to read new prompts that way, and you discard the rest as errant comments or what? Inquiring minds want to know!

Re: Flat View - Enlighten Me

(Anonymous)
I find it most useful for older parts where the only new posts are fills. Flat view lets you see the fills still coming in without having to check through the whole post.

Hey people, can we have a party? Like in this kinkmeme: http://community.livejournal.com/shkinkmeme/4083.html

I'm sure there's enough people here that it would be a proper size party.

Always up for a party!

BECAUSE I HAVE *CURIOSITY* IN MY HEART

what fandoms were/are people in before/besides Sherlock?

me: a handful of tiny tiny things which consisted of literally about six people. it is CRAZY being in a fandom as big as this

I've never really written much really, apart from one or two Harry Potter ones or so on, and I have lurked a little in various fandoms. I'm not really much of an "out" writer. I like being anon. It means no one can yell at me for writing small bits of crack/excessively morbid tendencies/wandering off to look at shiny things/etc.

Sherlock has a fucking giraffe neck

I mean look at it. It goes and goes and goes. How can a vampire resist that, I tell you?

Why aren't there more prompts about vampires salivating after Sherlock's loooooooooooooooooooong neck?

Re: Sherlock has a fucking giraffe neck

I is tipsy.

Just curious. I mean, I see lots of people from America, London & Europe but aside from a couple of people, I haven't really met any other Asians.

Re: ASIANS REPRESENT!

(Anonymous)
Asian here! Rolled my eyes quite a few times during The Blind Banker because of the Aznfail (and general plotholeyness), but still soldiered on because Cumberbatch and Freeman totally made up for it.
